Some Second-order Partial Differential Equations Associated with Lie Groups
In this note we survey results in recent research papers on the use of Lie groups in the study of partial differential equations. The focus will be on parabolic equations, and we will show how the problems at hand have solutions that seem natural in the context of Lie groups. The research is joint with D.W. Robinson, as well as other researchers who are listed in the references.
متن کاملApplication of the Lie Symmetry Analysis for second-order fractional differential equations
Obtaining analytical or numerical solution of fractional differential equations is one of the troublesome and challenging issue among mathematicians and engineers, specifically in recent years. The purpose of this paper Lie Symmetry method is developed to solve second-order fractional differential equations, based on conformable fractional derivative. Some numerical examples are presented to il...
متن کاملOn the stability of linear differential equations of second order
The aim of this paper is to investigate the Hyers-Ulam stability of the linear differential equation$$y''(x)+alpha y'(x)+beta y(x)=f(x)$$in general case, where $yin C^2[a,b],$ $fin C[a,b]$ and $-infty
متن کاملIsogeometric analysis for second order partial differential equations on surfaces
We consider the numerical solution of second order Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) on lower dimensional manifolds, specifically on surfaces in three dimensional spaces. For the spatial approximation, we consider Isogeometric Analysis which facilitates the encapsulation of the exact geometrical description of the manifold in the analysis when this is represented by B–splines or NURBS. Our ...
متن کاملOn Approximate Solutions of Second-Order Linear Partial Differential Equations
In this paper, a Chebyshev polynomial approximation for the solution of second-order partial differential equations with two variables and variable coefficients is given. Also, Chebyshev matrix is introduced. This method is based on taking the truncated Chebyshev expansions of the functions in the partial differential equations. Hence, the result matrix equation can be solved and approximate va...
